Salonik Resch holds a Bachelor’s of Computer Engineering and a Master’s of Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where is currently a PhD candidate. His research with his adviser Ulya R. Karpuzcu has focused on quantum noise modelling and novel classical computer architectures.

Question & Answer

Why have you chosen a career in quantum?

Quantum mechanics is very strange and very cool. What makes it even more cool is that it can be used to solve useful problems. I believe quantum computing to be a inevitable (albeit slow) revolution, and I want to leave my mark on it in these early years.

What is a problem you dream of solving (with quantum)?

Some quantum chemistry problem which would be financially lucrative yet also make the world a better place.

What’s your superpower?

Writing 1,000 lines of code before testing it.

If you could meet anyone, who would it be and why?

Richard Feynman. If that needs justification, just look him up!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

No one is righteous in their hatred (from my mother)
