Masaki Ikeda, Ph.D.

Quantum Solution Engineer

Masaki Ikeda received his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the University of Idaho. Before joining Zapata, Masaki taught Mathematics at Western Oregon University as a Visiting Assistant Professor for two years and then worked for a digital marketing consulting firm in Tokyo for another two years. His passion and profession lie in assisting people who are having difficult times understanding technical terms by giving the most suitable instructions. Using his bicultural background together with his experience of working in academia and the Japanese industry, Masaki aims to help to expand Zapata’s quantum computing technology to the Asian market.

What’s your superpower?

If I had a little bit too much whiskey, time goes half speed the next day. This superpower can’t be turned off once it’s activated. I used to hate it back in my college days, especially on Mondays.

 

If you could meet anyone, who would it be and why?

Aaron Rodgers for obvious reasons: GO PACK, GO!

 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

My mother taught me to always remember all kindness and gifts I receive from others, and if possible, make sure to return the favor.

 

What are people often surprised to know about you?

First I may appear to be the least animated person you can think of, but I’m like the most animated person you’ve met or will ever meet!
