Zapata Named a Gartner Cool Vendor

Zapata Named a <break> Gartner Cool Vendor
Zapata has been selected as a Cool Vendor in Quantum Computing by leading analyst firm Gartner.

Gartner Cool Vendors are young companies offering a product or service that is considered innovative or transformative. A vendor is defined as “cool” if their technology/product is:

  • Innovative: enable users to do things they couldn’t do before,
  • Impactful: have or will have a business impact; it’s not just “technology for the sake of technology”
  • Intriguing: caught Gartner’s interest/curiosity during the past 12 months.

Zapata’s capabilities and product Orquestra deliver on these criteria. Our team helps “identify quantum-affine problems and map out potential quantum solutions” that will impact our customer’s business. With Orquestra, our “hardware-independent quantum computing software stack”, customers are able to build and execute quantum workflows using any quantum software library and a range of quantum and classical backends.

Start your quantum computing strategy now by identifying opportunities in your business
Gartner, Cool Vendor Report 2020

The Cool Vendor report states, “I&O leaders have to start planning staffing, skills and projects. Our Cool Vendors provide I&O leaders leverage for learning and applying quantum computing.” It goes on to recommend that leaders “Start [their]quantum computing strategy now by identifying opportunities in [their] business,” which the Zapata team has done since 2017 with top companies across verticals.

Gartner’s Cool Vendor research is “designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services.” Reports like this help decision-makers evaluate options for partners in the competitive quantum space where many claim similar services and product features. It is an honor to be selected alongside very few players.

Our team at Zapata is proud of this designation and we believe it validates our commitment to building software that maximizes what quantum technology can do today and into the future. As the quantum computing revolution accelerates over the next several years, we will keep our customers at the forefront —so they can tackle the most promising use cases, secure strategic IP, and build quantum expertise.

Finally, the report expresses urgency for leading organizations’ QC capability-building: “This is a long-term process, and it needs attention now, most likely in the form of a nascent QC center of excellence. If you are asking yourself, ‘Am I behind?’ The answer is most likely ‘yes.’”
